The Dive Team at KBR

Dive Center Manager

Tim Gurney is our Dive Center Manager at KBR. Born in the UK, Tim has recently retired from the British Diplomatic Service after 35 years - although he's still young at heart (and has the stamina to prove it!). He has served in British Embassies all over the world: Turkey, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, Ghana, the US and most recently in Afghanistan and Australia where he was Deputy High Commissioner. He was made an OBE by the Queen in 2006. A PADI Staff Instructor, Tim has the dubious distinction of setting up the only PADI dive centre ever in Kabul! He also established a scuba and reef awareness programme for children in Bermuda during his five years there as the island's Deputy Governor. Travel and underwater photography are real passions for Tim.

KBR's Dive Guides

KBR's dive guides are amongst the most experienced in the Strait in finding camouflaged and elusive creatures. They also understand the extra requirements of underwater photographers and will move slowly and patiently to allow you to get the shots you want. And group size is limited to no more than four guests per guide, ensuring an 'elbow-free' diving experience!

Meet KBR's Diveguides Ade, Ben, Detmon, Ednan, Horin, Iwan, Jeffrey, Liberty, Puri, and Roby. Friendly and hardworking, it is our dive guides that will make the difference in your diving experience. Make your list of hard to find critters and our guides will find them.

Many of our repeat guests already know the magic eyes that these guys have for finding the unusual, fantastic, and other worldly creatures that inhabit Lembeh Strait.

Our new guests are amazed at what our guides are able to share on each dive. Nowhere else in Lembeh Strait will you find a group of such talented, friendly, and helpful guides who will make your dive experience unforgettable.
